Melodic and Beautiful

I had to wait awhile to review this song so I could think of something meaningful to say. Plain and simple, It's an amazing song. Using acoustic instruments give this song such a beautiful, melodic, and warm touch, I can tell you used an acoustic piano rather than a software or synthesised one which adds alot. It was very well arranged too, beautiful and melodic as I said before, and you couldn't have gotten a better person to do guitar for you. I'm a huge fan the Bad Man which is how I found this song in the first place.

As the vocals, I love them and hate them. The lyrics were very well written and go well with this song, and you do sing them very well at like the Tenor and Baraton level. The problem is that when your sing some of the higher parts (like alto) your voice seems to almost seems to cut out, and it sounds really forced and a bit off key like on the chorus. That aside you do have good voice and this is an amazing song, but you like most guys can't sing in Alto and tenor rang. Maybe you should consider writing you song on a low key or sing the vocals an octave lower, or maybe you could get a female vocalist to accompany you.

That's my only critique, this really is an amazing song.

Holy shit

Richard Howle, you really need to start a band or something, you've got more skill than alot of mainstream gutairists. This is probably the best metal song on the portal right now, fucking blew me away. So fast and hevey it's sexy. Rock On!

All Hail the Bad Man

A bit of a change from your normal style, but I like it it's very chill. Respect to your skill, this ones really smooth I paticularly like the riff at 0:34 but the whole thing is good. Rock on man.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks very much dude. I didn't win the contest, but...its always fun to do the mellow things. haha. Thanks again, man.\m/

Bitchin

Damn, I just got blown away by a wave of power metal ausomness. KICK ASS, this songs incridible, I can definately see the Deathklok type style especialy on the drums. Richard Howle, you have some seriouse skill.

Damn does that flow

This song is so smooth, nice and trancy, but really upbeat. It really flows, sounds professionaly done. It's the kinda song that sticks in your head and make you want to get up and move.

Pretty Savy Ace

A good Ambiant tune is always good, like the synths on this one I whould have added more mello effects in the background, but thats personal preferance. It's got a great arangement. Might want to play around with the effects and tunning a bit to give it a warmer feel, buts it is really good.

Simple but sweet

Very relaxing I like it, good work on the piano, and your right the simple wave visulizer does look best here. I whould suggest adding some ambiant some effects in the background. It's a good song though.

kevs91 responds:

Serious question about mixing, because of the "adding some ambient effects in the background" comment:
Towards the end-ish of the song, can you hear the synth layers and stuff in the background? If not, what sort of speakers are you using (bass-heavy or not, headphones, ect). Because if you're not hearing what I'm hearing or what I intended you to hear, I obviously fucked up big time in the mixing/mastering part.

Sorry for the questionnaire-type dealy, I'm just concerned that I'm not doing enough mixing/mastering wise here. PM me, if you get the chance.

Anyways, thanks for the prompt review.

Loop Loop Loop

This song is 5 minutes long it sould be 2, it repeats itself way to much. There isn't really much there all and all, only a simple beat and a few distorted synths, it seems like you just used like 5 or 6 loops and through them together in a song that drags out 5 minutes, you get sick of it after awile. My advise is and more variation and instramentation.

snayk responds:

There are several beats, and they are not simple. There are more than three different cymbals working in each drum loop. Yes, I am very loop-oriented, but telling me that I just "through" (THREW) my loops together is wrong. There is order to what I have done.

All the other reviewers of this song seem to disagree with you in one way or another. Giving me a three out of ten is an insult.

Perhaps if you'd have listened the whole way through, you'd have noticed the other melody and synths used later in the song.

If you'd have given me constructive criticism without being so condescending, maybe I would have taken your review seriously.

My advice is a little humility.

uhhhhhhh

Ok, so you were going for alot distortion, that's cool, but this is kinda ear shattering and that's saying something coming from some one who listens to metal on a regular basis. It's kinda repetitive too. There is some rhythm there but it's hard to hear behind all the distortion. If it's what you going than that's cool though, just though I'd give a little feedback.

Dj-Fanta5t1c responds:

lol its cool man. i listen to metal everyday too O.- =) i was going for the ear shattering effect, anything about like, what i could do to improve insated of taking away?
theres always that one guy =P lol

I can feel it

It's hevey and rythmatic, but yet still melodic. It's got a great beat to it and some beautiful synths. Not much else to say great song.

Angry Rant, overcritical reviews, and music of every kind all color my repertoire.
