Way to just pond the shit out of that song, in a good way. I like your remix alot more actualy much heavier, you also did a much better job ballencing everything out. I gave you a 10 cause shit this just kicks ass. Mabey a little but too much distortion, but only little. Rock On!!!!
thank you! yes i have gotten a little better at distributing levels, this is a little different than my usual style, but it fucking kicks ass as you say! =D
thanks man! this is like the first review that you gave me that is good! that means alot to me ha! thanks bro!
Alot of weird sound effects hear, not as heavy as I normaly like but still good. Kinda off beat not that thats a bad thing, but I think here it just gets to be a bit too much, I mean there is no real melody here, and I think you kinda over did on the distortion. So what I whould suggest is, add a few more clean on key synths or instraments, add a base line and more volume on the drums. It is pretty good though.
I'm not sure what you mean by off beat. The percussion is intentionally more varied and with a bit more movement than I normally have, but it's never off beat. If you're referring to some of the background noise, that is intentionally off beat, and it's really not that often (it draws attention to it, and is pretty cool, in my opinion).
It's not the most melodic piece, but it's not supposed to be. The drums, actually, I find to be a bit too loud, so I'm not sure I'd turn it up, especially since I don't find percussion to be the most interesting aspect of a song. As for the distortion, that's really part of the feel of the piece, and since there are a bunch of cleaner sounds used, I think more would have made the track lose a big theme and part of its identity.
Don't mean to sound disagreeable, but I guess it's a matter of opinion on some of the things you bring up. I'll keep your suggestions in mind though for next time (the thing I'm working on, for example, is much more melodic).
Again, thank you for the criticism, I really do appreciate it and I will keep it in mind for my future stuff, even if I disagree with parts of it.
A bit of a change from your normal style, but I like it it's very chill. Respect to your skill, this ones really smooth I paticularly like the riff at 0:34 but the whole thing is good. Rock on man.
Very relaxing I like it, good work on the piano, and your right the simple wave visulizer does look best here. I whould suggest adding some ambiant some effects in the background. It's a good song though.
Serious question about mixing, because of the "adding some ambient effects in the background" comment:
Towards the end-ish of the song, can you hear the synth layers and stuff in the background? If not, what sort of speakers are you using (bass-heavy or not, headphones, ect). Because if you're not hearing what I'm hearing or what I intended you to hear, I obviously fucked up big time in the mixing/mastering part.
Sorry for the questionnaire-type dealy, I'm just concerned that I'm not doing enough mixing/mastering wise here. PM me, if you get the chance.
This song is 5 minutes long it sould be 2, it repeats itself way to much. There isn't really much there all and all, only a simple beat and a few distorted synths, it seems like you just used like 5 or 6 loops and through them together in a song that drags out 5 minutes, you get sick of it after awile. My advise is and more variation and instramentation.
There are several beats, and they are not simple. There are more than three different cymbals working in each drum loop. Yes, I am very loop-oriented, but telling me that I just "through" (THREW) my loops together is wrong. There is order to what I have done.
All the other reviewers of this song seem to disagree with you in one way or another. Giving me a three out of ten is an insult.
Perhaps if you'd have listened the whole way through, you'd have noticed the other melody and synths used later in the song.
If you'd have given me constructive criticism without being so condescending, maybe I would have taken your review seriously.
Ok, so you were going for alot distortion, that's cool, but this is kinda ear shattering and that's saying something coming from some one who listens to metal on a regular basis. It's kinda repetitive too. There is some rhythm there but it's hard to hear behind all the distortion. If it's what you going than that's cool though, just though I'd give a little feedback.
lol its cool man. i listen to metal everyday too O.- =) i was going for the ear shattering effect, anything about like, what i could do to improve insated of taking away?
theres always that one guy =P lol
This song does have a cool beat to it, but it really just repeats itself over and over, it gets annoying after awile. If you were to trim and make it a loop that whould probably be much more appropriate. Also more instrament and more variation ingeneral would help alot here.
Hey, to be quite honnest ^^ I really agree with you, see this song was mainly made for my girlfriend because she is so much into the whole industrial music thing, and eventhough I don't understand that much about it, she really liked it, so it did it's purpose, anyhow thanks for the review :) check out Mea Gaïa from me probbaly like it alot more :)
Industrial/ambient is like an oxymoron, it really doesn't work. Also this song in general is way too simple and repetitive. It gets boring after the first minute. More percussion would help also I would choose between industrial or ambient because they don't work well together, and if this is supposed industrial it needs to be heavier and more percussive.
The hevey synths do give it a cool sound, but this song lacks rythem, which is a key elament to industrial music. The drums are only on like half the time, and the beat is really inconsistant. It's cool sound but it needs more rythem.
Heavy and generally sexy, I love it. The effects are really well done, so are the guitars, it all comes together really well. Love the echoy percussive sound you get with the drums. Good work.
